Seminary Scholarships
Disciples Women of Virginia have supported female seminarians in our region for the last three decades. If you are an active member of a disciple congregation in the Region of Virginia and are currently attending an accredited seminary, you may be eligible for financial assistance. Scholarships are sent directly to the seminary.
To Apply:
- A completed and signed application according to the guidelines in the application.
- You must show a demonstrated need.
- You are presently under the care of the Christian Church in Virginia’s Commission on Ministry for either Commission or Ordination.
- You are presently enrolled in an ATS-accredited seminary.
Continuing Education Scholarship
Additionally, beginning in 2024, scholarships are now available, using the same application form, for continuing education for active female clergy in the Virginia Region pursuing advanced theological education. At the time of submission, applicants must be enrolled in the class or classes for which the scholarship is requested and actively serving a local congregation in Virginia as either senior, associate, or youth pastor. Scholarships are sent directly to the seminary. All clergy must have standing with the Region of Virginia. When funds become limited (low) during any given year, preference will be given to seminarians pursuing a Master of Divinity degree emphasizing parish ministry.
